Feldman, Hamilton lead Rangers by Tribe
CLEVELAND (AP)—Scott Feldman(notes) pitched six sharp innings and Josh Hamilton(notes) hadfour hits, including the go-ahead two-run double, leading the Texas Rangers to a4-1 win over the Cleveland Indians on Thursday.
Feldman (12-4) worked out of trouble several times after allowing afirst-inning run in winning his third straight start. The right-hander allowedseven hits and struck out six to improve to 8-1 with a 3.33 ERA in 10 roadstarts this season.

Hamilton’s double off Jeremy Sowers(notes) (4-8) gave the Rangers a 2-1 lead. Healso had an infield hit in the first and turned what appeared to be a routinesingle into a double by hustling into second base. Hamilton’s effort resulted ina run when he advanced to third on a hit and scored on David Murphy’s(notes) sacrificefly.
The All-Star outfielder added a single in the eighth and is batting .522 (12for 23) with six RBIs in six games against the Indians this season.
Hamilton is heating up as the Rangers head into their biggest weekend of theseason, a three-games series against Boston. He hit .486 (18 for 37) with ahomer and eight RBIs on the Rangers’ 10-game trip, raising his batting averagefrom .220 to .260. The Rangers, who went 5-5 on the trip, trailed the Red Sox byone game in the AL wild-card race.
Frank Francisco(notes) pitched the ninth for his 15th save and his first since July10.
Elvis Andrus(notes) added a solo homer in the fourth, his fifth of the season.
Shin-Soo Choo’s(notes) sacrifice fly in the first gave the Indians a 1-0 lead.
Michael Young(notes), who entered the game in a 1-for-18 slump, singled with oneout in the third and took third on Andruw Jones’(notes) two-out double. Hamilton’s hittoward the line fell in front of a diving Trevor Crowe(notes) in left field.
Sowers allowed four runs and eight hits in 5 1-3 innings.
Rookie right-hander Neftali Feliz(notes) relieved Feldman in the seventh and struckout the first five hitters he faced. That string was broken when Jhonny Peralta(notes)grounded out.
