Mariners LHP Lee to miss at least 1 week

PEORIA, Ariz. (AP)—Seattle Mariners left-hander Cliff Lee(notes) has a lower rightabdominal strain and will miss at least a week of spring training.
The team made the announcement on Friday.
Lee was examined in Seattle by a team physician, who made the diagnosis. Leeunderwent an ultrasound and was given a platelet-rich plasma injection. The teamsaid he would be re-examined in seven days.
Lee was acquired from the Philadelphia Phillies in an offseason trade. He’sexpected to anchor the top of Seattle’s pitching rotation along with youngright-hander Felix Hernandez(notes).
