Jennings shines, Bucks top Kings in 2OT

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP)—Brandon Jennings(notes) scored 35 points, hit a career-higheight 3-pointers and added eight assists in the Milwaukee Bucks’ 114-108double-overtime victory over the Sacramento Kings on Friday night.

Jennings’ points total was the rookie’s highest since he had 55 in a Nov. 14game at Golden State.

Kings rookie Tyreke Evans(notes) was hit in the mouth late in regulation on aloose-ball situation and didn’t return. Evans, who may have sustained aconcussion, had 15 points, four rebounds and four assists. He had his firsttriple-double last week and was an assist shy of having two more in thefollowing three games.

John Salmons(notes) had 27 points, and Andrew Bogut(notes) added 21 points and 11 reboundsfor the Bucks, who avoided their first two-game losing streak since mid-January.

Beno Udrih(notes) had 26 points and nine assists for the Kings, who have lost twostraight and six of eight. Spencer Hawes(notes) and Carl Landry(notes) scored 16 points each.

The Bucks hold down fifth place in the Eastern Conference playoff chase andare 2 1/2 games ahead of sixth-place Charlotte, which lost to Atlanta in overtime.

The Bucks scored the first five points of the second overtime and nevertrailed.

Jennings hit a jumper with 1:12 left for a 112-108 lead.

In the first overtime, Jennings missed a jumper in the closing seconds thatwould have won the game. Neither team scored in the final 59 seconds and wentinto the second overtime tied at 101.

Ersan Iilyasova sent the game into overtime, making a long 3-pointer to tieit at 95 with 6.4 seconds left. The Kings squandered a nine-point lead in thefinal 2:26.

The battle of the two talented rookies definitely belonged to Jennings inthe first half. He made five 3-pointers and had 22 points for Milwaukee, whichled 49-48.

NOTES: Bucks forward Carlos Delfino(notes) was back in the starting lineup aftermissing the last two games because of left ankle bone bruise. … The Kingsended their five-game homestand and will play six of their next seven on theroad, starting Sunday against the Clippers.
