S Williams stays with Bengals for 1 year

CINCINNATI (AP)—Safety Roy Williams agreed to a one-year deal to stay with theCincinnati Bengals.
Williams signed with the Bengals as a free agent from Dallas last year andwas the starting strong safety when the season began.
He suffered a forearm injury in the third game of the season and never fullyhealed, limiting him to one more game. He went on injured reserve Nov. 13 andbecame a free agent after the season.
The Bengals’ medical staff has cleared Williams to fully participate inoffseason conditioning. He was a five-time Pro Bowl player with Dallas beforeleaving for Cincinnati.
