Tomlinson visits Vikings, to meet Jets

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP)—LaDainian Tomlinson(notes) has left the Minnesota Vikingsfacility without a deal in place and is on his way to New York to visit theJets.

A person with knowledge of the negotiations tells The Associated Press thatthe star running back spent several hours at Vikings headquarters Thursday, butdid not reach agreement on a contract. The person requested anonymity becausenegotiations were ongoing.

Tomlinson emerged from the meetings shortly after 5 p.m. CST clutching apurple Vikings jersey. But he did not comment before pulling away in a blacklimousine.

The Vikings are interested in having Tomlinson take over for the departedChester Taylor(notes) as the third-down back behind All-Pro Adrian Peterson.
