Golf-Balinese teen Alfie takes swing at auntie Lidya (Reuters)

SINGAPORE, March 18 (Reuters) – A 14-year-old from Bali isbidding to upset the odds at the inaugural Ladies IndonesiaOpen this week—but perhaps more importantly to beat herauntie Lidya.
Alfe Setiono is the youngest player in the tournament onthe honeymoon island of Bali and will come up against her26-year-old aunt Lidya Jaya Ivana, organisers said on Thursday.
Auntie Lidya has already begin putting the psychologicalsqueeze on her niece before the three-day event at New KutaGolf Club.
“I don’t think she will do any better than me but, thenagain, who knows what may happen?” she said. “I’m not going tobe influenced by her presence.
“I want to try and win this event to boost the sport amongthe women golfers in Indonesia. I’ll be proud of Alfe if shedoes well as she hopes to build up a career in professionalgolf too.”
Young Alfie shot back: “It’s not just my aunt but finishingahead of other established professionals will certainly ignitemy zeal to be a strong player.”
