Charges dropped against Vols S Jackson

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP)—Prosecutors have dropped attempted aggravated robberycharges against Tennessee freshman safety Janzen Jackson.

The Knox County District Attorney’s office said Monday that charges would bedropped against the 18-year-old. Charges were also dropped against 22-year-oldMarie Montmarquet, who had been accused of driving the getaway car.

The district attorney’s office said neither person knew the robbery wasgoing to happen.

Charges are still pending against Jackson’s former teammates, Nu’KeeseRichardson and Mike Edwards, who are accused of holding up two men at aconvenience store.

Jackson’s attorney, Don Bosch, says his client was at the wrong place at thewrong time.

Coach Lane Kiffin said Sunday that he was waiting to make a decision aboutJackson’s future with the team.
