Cincinnati QB Pike expected to start

CINCINNATI (AP)—Quarterback Tony Pike is still on target to start for No. 5Cincinnati against Illinois on Friday.
Coach Brian Kelly said Monday the senior’s injured left forearm has healedmore during the Bearcats’ bye week, and he’s planning to let Pike make his firststart since Oct. 15 at South Florida. Pike had a plate in his non-throwing armdamaged during that game and had to have it replaced.
Sophomore backup Zach Collaros started the next four games and helped theBearcats (10-0) remain unbeaten. Pike played briefly in a 24-21 win over WestVirginia on Nov. 13, taking four snaps and throwing two touchdown passes.
Kelly said Pike will start on Friday unless something unexpected happensduring practice this week.
