Michigan’s Rodriguez wraps up rough year

November 23, 2009

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP)—Michigan football coach Rich Rodriguez has had 12straight weekly news conferences to look ahead to the next game.

For the first time since August, Rodriguez didn’t have a matchup to previewon Monday. Michigan hasn’t said when he’ll hold a news conference to wrap up theseason that started 4-0 and ended 5-7.

Until then, others will do plenty of talking and speculating about hisfuture with college football’s winningest program.

It seems unlikely Michigan will fire Rodriguez after two awful seasons withan NCAA investigation looming and a search for a new athletic director underway.

School president Mary Sue Coleman has issued statements of support, but shehas not definitively said Rodriguez will be back for the 2010 season.
