S. Carolina’s Horn gets extension, raise

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP)—South Carolina coach Darrin Horn has agreed to a two-yearcontract extension that will increase his salary to $1.1 million per year.

The university’s Board of Trustees approved the new contract Monday. It runsthrough March 2015.

Horn finished 21-10 in first season with the Gamecocks, winning a share ofthe Southeastern Conference Eastern Division title. South Carolina is 6-2 thisseason.

Along with a $300,000 bump in salary, the new deal also raises the buyout ifHorn leaves this season from $1.5 million to $2.5 million. The buyout is $2million after April 2011 and drops to $1.25 million in April 2012.
